Confusion between who I am and who I want to be

When we are confused about who we are and who we want to be, its seems like a daunting task to figure out why the confusion is there in the first. Usually when we are confused, we are seeking clarity for the confusion that in fact is caused by the mind perceiving how something should be or in this case, how I should be.

In the video below, I share reasons for the confusion and how to understand it so you don’t become consumed by it.

Awareness

As I sat under the oak tree I realized that all of life was in me and I was in all of life. I and everything around me represented the whole of existence. It was subtly resting, nestling and nudging all throughout this world, as a way of letting itself out. The subtly in its expression was simple, pure and gentle like the eternal emotions of joy, happiness and peace. All you had to do was feel its vibration in your being to understand how everything in this life comes to a complete circle. How everything is oneness and a representation of the god-conscious energy that is the heartbeat of all of life, the frequency at which your heartbeat matches the consciousness of your knowingness of love. Its a forever presence that indicates your ability to recognize the love in your heart, in others and in the world. As you become aware of this energy you begin to be more accepting of yourself and of everyone  that you encounter. These encounters are a holy communion as two god present souls come into contact and oneness because of the love present in their being. This way of living and ascending in life is the path to self-actualization and self-knowledge.

Find your way back to your self

We’ve all been there, that place where we lose sight of our self and who we are. How do we find our way back to our self? How do we open our hearts to courage so that we can take that step towards being with our self? We must begin, no matter how painful, no matter how low, no matter how frustrated, no matter how irritated and no matter how upset we are. We have to believe that even in the darkness there is a light shining. This light is not on the outside, but on the inside. Inside of you, where it remains lit, untamed and unshaken by any winds from the outside. Why? Because the outside circumstances, situations, emotions, thoughts or feeling have no affect on it. The only affect on it is the effect of eternal love; which is its fuel. This is the reason why this light burns in the first place. To realize this knowing is the initial step in allowing yourself to come back to  your self. When you grasp on to the stillness presented in this presence, you can use it as a rope to pull yourself out of wherever it is that you’ve gotten yourself lost into. Take a step towards accepting that where you are right now is okay, but its not where you belong. You belong in the open loving arms of your self, with the one that accepts you and loves you unconditionally. The conditions in which you are right now, are not conditions of your self. They are imaginary puppets of your dualistic mind, whose only requirement is that you obey it, honor it and listen to it. What if you didn’t do that? What if you chose not to listen? What if you decided to break the chains with which it has tied you down? Instead, what if you chose to honor Creation, of whose masterpiece you are? And what if you lovingly chose to honor your true self? You are not separate from your self, your mind creates the separation in order to satisfy its desire to always be in charge. Always be in control. Always be in the limelight. Your self doesn’t need this limelight, because its light is not one to be reckoned with or even one of comparison to the mind. It burns confidently in its knowing of who it is and who it has come here to be. Sit with this conscious knowing, thank it and allow it to embrace you and allow it to guide you back home, back to your self.

Daily Prompt: But No Cigar

This close is a beautiful asimily for when you are trying so hard to control the outcome in your favor; however, the outcome does not happen as so. Instead, the outcome is usually something you don’t want to happen or did not anticipate happening. Like everything in life, even this close, has meaning and some truth behind it. This close is a representation of control. Controlling so life will go in your favor, rather than you going in the favor of life. However, it can be misunderstood as ‘what the heck went wrong’ or ‘where did I mess up here’. The emphasis is too often placed on what could I have done differently or better to rig the outcome in my favor. Very rarely is it looked at as, this had to happen in order for something else to happen. It happened because thats how its supposed to unfold for me to gain the most amount of understanding of life and grow as a spirit. All spiritual growth happens when either shit hits the fan, when we are faced with situations that are not controllable or when we deal with pain. All this eventually culminates to an awakening of something within that causes us to look at and live life different. Not until life slaps you across the face, do you really understand what it means to be alive.

Sacred Contract

Cleverly she said she would do all that she could to keep that spark, that fire alive. She had made a commitment with all that scared her, all that challenged her and all that would change her life forever. She embraced the unknown with open arms and an open heart; ready to discover, ready to explore and ready to adventure. Into the hallows and depths of eternity from where she was from, yet never been.

Daily Prompt: Quirk of Habit

What is quirky, but a reflection of who you are. Its nothing to be dubbed as ‘annoying’ or ‘loveable’ rather just a representation of what is you, what is true. To accept your quirk is to accept that you are uniquely you, you are just being you. No sentiments, no labels, no I am this or I am that, but perhaps a self acceptance or self realization that quirky is, not what is quirky. Because what is quirky to one; is cool to another, but just an is to all.

Daily Prompt: Forward

Life is a momentum, a pace by which the waves ride. For what it seems, you are either moving slow, fast, not moving at all or  just moving along. However, being with the flow is moving forward. You can only move forward once you’ve accepted the present, fully embraced it and have no rush to push forward. Then, you can relax into the moment and let the moment be your guide, next stepping stone to forward. Its not a process, but rather a way of feeling and knowing that forward is always there, it’ll always happen. The question is not how gracefully can you move forward, but how much grace can you occupy in the here and now. Life is about chance, change, growth, discovery, progress, learning and forward. As the famous lines say, “Life goes on”, thats what forward is. Stories all collectively moving forward for a better tomorrow; a greater cause and to be an authentic you, who is not bound by time or space; but by your knowing that forward is just a state of mind, not a place of being.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Beginning

Processed with VSCOcam with b1 preset

Winter is in full swing here in Chicago. We even had a whopping low of -43F  windchill. Although bitterly cold, there is something so serene about a fresh snowfall. Its like a purifying ritual, where all the ground gets covered in a dusty glittering blanket of purity, marking a beginning or a new way of seeing. Beginnings are an inconstant state; everywhere and anywhere you can see a new beginning budding or taking form. Its what keeps life going, its what keeps us moving and growing. All beginnings are just a gateway to growth, discovery and self-actualization!

Daily Prompt: The Outsiders

Your outside is your inside. What you see outside is what you hold inside. They are reflective of one another, just a like mirror reflects back what the mirror sees. There is no interpreting, dissecting, labeling or trying to make an identity of what you see because the outside is just the outer shell of the inside. It holds a matter of great value. It doesn’t try to shape it; rather it becomes shaped by the inside. The inside is what runs the show, what gives the outside life. Living with an awareness of what is the inside; is knowing that the outside is where the physicality is showcased. How you feel and live with your inside is how you will feel and see your outside. Change the way you look at your inside, change the way you identify with your outside. They are parallel lovers, two of the same kind yet heavily rested into their promising images of what they are. They are nothing but signs of life, breathe and this human earthly existence. To be lived on the outside, yet felt on the inside.
