New Year Resolutions?

It’s that time of the year again where everyone is thinking what their New Year Resolutions will be. This year, I am doing something different. For the year 2014, I am choosing to take a conscious approach rather than following a goal-oriented, results based method. Why? Because the ‘typical’ way of making a New Year Resolution is too heavily focused on the end result, rather than the process. In 2014 for me, its all about the process, the journey and most of all the feelings. Therefore, inspired by Danielle LaPorte and her Core Desire Feelings mapping, I have chosen to focus on my core desire feelings for 2014. I chose 5 core desire feelings:

1. Joy 2. Abundance 3. Synergy 4. Inspired 5. Connection

These are the top 5 feelings I am/want to feel in 2014; and the activities I choose, the way I live and how I approach my life is based on these feelings. Its not about changing yourself to become a better version of yourself, its about BEING yourself and focusing on what that means to you. Choose to just BE and forget about becoming. When you focus on your being, you can express it fully as well as choose how you want to feel at all times. So this year, I invite you to ditch making New Year Resolutions and instead focus on your core desire feelings. What makes you come alive, what make you feel connected with your inner self, what is joy for you? Ask yourself a few questions and get mapping on your desired feelings!

I’ve also made a video about this topic, which you can watch here.

Share below what your core desire feelings for 2014 are. Happy Monday!

How to get Back on Track

In this video I share a personal story of a “slip up”, what I learned and how to get back on track. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is get started and to begin again when we slip up. It’s all a matter of understanding what message your slip up has for you, as well as how you choose to identify with it.

Please share below, how you’ve overcome your own slip ups. If you found this video helpful, give me a tweet at @DEARKAJAL and/or share it with a friend. I would appreciate that 🙂

Have a great weekend!

How to turn your blaah day around

Making the most of your day when you are in a blaaaah state of mind.

You know its just one of those day when you feel like you never really got up. Everything is just a drag, it all seems so time consuming and you want to lay around all day. You’re left with two options, am I going to make this day or will this day make me? I’ve experienced both sides of the same coin and have decided that I feel better when I make the day. But there is a problem, I don’t feel like doing sh*t. All I want to do is eat a bag of cookies, watch endless hours of Netflix, stay in pajamas and call it a day. However, if I do that I always end up not feeling true to myself. So therefore, the matter of the fact is, how can I take my blaaaah day and make into at least an okay day, if not a great day?

  • Shower (preferably cold if you can) as soon as you get up
  • Make yourself a healthy and nutritious breakfast so you won’t ravenously stuff your face later. For example: a green smoothie, oatmeal with bananas, chia seed pudding, egg omelette with your favorite vegetables or even some pancakes
  • Wear something you feel amazing and beautiful in. Dress to impress (impress yourself)!
  • Grab your favorite latte or tea from a coffee shop you love, stick around for a bit to people watch
  • Write yourself a Here is what I know letter, see an example (here)
  • Read some inspiring, motivating and empowering quotes
  • Start reading that book you’ve kept eyeing to read, but never got around to it
  • Walk barefoot on the grass, even lay a blanket down and go clouding gazing or clouding dissolving, watch this video (here)
  • Talk to a friend on the phone or in person, catch up
  • Give yourself 5 compliments
  • Workout, its an instant mood booster
  • Write, whatever you’re feeling, get it out on paper. Check this out (here)
  • Explore a new area of your town, city. Take pictures with your iPhone to document your experience
  • Clean, tidy up your room, a clean environment means a clear mind
  • Above all be kind to yourself, cherish yourself and don’t hate on yourself for having a blaaaaah day, it happens and its okay

Share below what things you do to turn your blaaaah day around?

How to Overcome Feeling Stuck

In this video I talk about how you overcome feeling stuck.

“What lies before us and what lies behind us are small matters compared to what lies within us. And when you bring what is within out into the world, miracles happen”.

Three Habits of Happiness

1. Gratitude

  • Your life is the biggest blessing you’ve received, give thanks for it and everything in it everyday.

2. Savor

  • Live in awareness of the present moment, savor it, taste it, experience it, live (verb) it.

3. Find meaning in your work

  • Be passionate, do it for the love and have believe in yourself.

Life Purpose Exercise

Jot down this question on a piece of paper, think for a few and then let the words flow out. Below is my {unedited} answer to the question.

Q: What do I think is the purpose of humanity?

A: To evolve consciously in a deeper understanding of their truth, to learn self acceptance, self love and self embodiment. To see everything and everyone as a whole identity of the oneness. To realize that we have the power, the knowledge and the ability to live harmoniously together in a world that is filled with abundant love, kindness and compassion. Where everyday is a day in heaven; in the heaven of the soul and spirit. Where we are all being constantly guided to listen to our trueness. Believing in our light to make and create a life that is reflection of who we are as spiritual beings.
